About Us!
Driven To Win was founded in 2024 in Camdenton, Missouri by Tim Day. Tim is a local racer and a pastor of Camdenton Bible Baptist Church. With his passion for racing and ministry, God opened the door to start this unique program. Tim has built over 20 race cars as a hobby and has over 35 feature wins since 2020. He is excited about sharing the skills found in racing to the teens involved in the program.
- What are the Age Limits?
- The age limit is for 14-18 year olds. Boys and girls are both welcomed to come and you don’t have to be in a certain school district.
- What are the Requirements?
- There will be a few requirements for the teens to participate. They as well as a legal guardian will need to sign the Liability Waiver as well as agree to the Rules of Conduct. We operate on a 3 strike policy and will remove a teen from participation if needed. We do not want to do that, but for the safety and well-being of the program we will have guidelines.
- How do we go Racing?
- There are classes and practices that are required before a teen will be given a scheduled night to race. They will be racing other cars at a local dirt track. At least one legal guardian must be at the track during the whole time of the scheduled race event.
- How fast do the Race Cars Go?
- We will be building and racing Front Wheel Drive 4 cylinder cars. They will get between 45-60 mph. Safety gear and proper instructions will be given to each teen before they embark on a racing night.
- What happens if there is a wreck?
- Wrecks happen, especially in racing. We will take the car and teach weekly maintenance and how to fix it. The cars will be safe and with proper safety equipment, injuries are unlikely, but possible. Racing is dangerous and legal guardians and teens should be aware of the dangers.
- How many cars are there?
- As of now we are planning on building and maintaining 5 cars. We will have teams that will work on and drive the same car in a rotation.
- How can someone help?
- Volunteer – weekly meetings, weekly food schedule, spread the word
- Sponsor – racing is not cheap. We need sponsors to invest and donate to get the cars built and proper equipment for the shop
- Spread the Word – let people know who we are and our mission!!
